My Economist

It is strange to me that my five year old grasps complex economic theories, while the world at large struggles mightily. Sammy is tight. Tight, tight, tight. Won't spend a dime on himself. Works hard for his money (exaggerating a bit here), but is unwilling to spend it, unless he REALLY needs to. The exception to that is if he chooses to spend it on others. If he sees someone in need he is overly generous. If he wants to give someone a present, the tightly clenched fist opens wide. I don't know where he gets these theories, but they have been true for him as long as he understood the concept of money.

Don't be wasteful, save if you can, buy only what you need, unless a friend needs something, then do what you can to help them. If only we all were so wise.
